What types of events do you perform for?

How far in advance should I book a magician?

Book as early as possible, especially around holidays and wedding season when dates fill up fast. That said, I can sometimes accommodate last-minute bookings, so reach out even if your event is coming up soon.

How much does a magician cost?

Pricing depends on event length, travel distance, audience size, and whether you want close-up magic, a stage show, or both. Custom magic can also be created for your event. These ranges are approximate, for the Portland, OR area:

• Private Party: Close-up magic and a short show, approximately 90 minutes — $800-$1,500

• Wedding Reception: Close-up magic for 2–3 hours, including custom magic for the couple — $1,000–$1,500

• Corporate Event: Close-up magic for 2–3 hours $1,000–$1,500, a 45–60-minute stage show $1,000, or both $2,000

What makes a good corporate magician?

A good corporate magician reads the room, works a crowd efficiently, and keeps content clean and professional for a mixed audience. As a corporate magician, Jim tailors each performance, close-up mingling magic, a stage show or both, to the size and tone of your event, reaching 75–100 guests per hour with close-up magic in a party setting.

Do you perform for kids, adults, or both?

I primarily perform for adult audiences at weddings, private parties, and corporate events. I do occasionally perform at family-friendly events such as the Portland Spirit Cinnamon Bear Cruise, OMSI's science fair, and summer camps. I do not perform at children's birthday parties.

What areas do you travel to?

I'm based in Portland, OR and regularly perform throughout the surrounding area, including Seattle,Vancouver, WA, andSalem. For events further out, I'm happy to travel. A travel fee may apply depending on distance.

What's included in a corporate magic package?

A corporate magic package can include close-up mingling magic (ideal for cocktail hours and networking), a full stage show (ideal for larger seated audiences), or both combined. What do you need from the venue?

Requirements are minimal. Generally, I just need a bit of space to perform and for stage shows, access to an electrical outlet. I'll confirm specifics with you once your event details are locked in.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit is required to reserve your date, with the remaining balance due by the day of the event. Reach out for specifics on the cancellation and refund policy. I recognize corporations may have a different payment cycle and I am happy to work within your system.

Yes. Whether it's a themed party, a corporate event with your branding, or a specific audience in mind, I'll work with you to customize the performance.
